Academie of Light Ministers & Teachers
Judith Light Feather - Ordained Minister, Spiritual Healer, Environmental Steward, Trusted Servant
Over the past 14 years I have ordained over 70 S.H.E.S. Ministers on my travels around the country.  Many of them chose to use the Academie of Light as the name for their ministries and have gone forward to develop wonderful services for healing/teaching and becoming true environmental stewards in all aspects of reality.  This page will be dedicated to those ordained ministers in honor of their continued service.  Those who have chosen another name for their ministries are welcome to contact me with information on their growth so they may also be listed.  Check the contact page for information on how to reach me with your updated materials.

Nikki Theisinger, Minister, Academie of Light Certified Teacher
Horse Connection Developmental Equine Therapy

"Spirit of the Horse Carriage Rides"

Nikki Theisinger has based all of her work as a Minister/Teacher on the 'Spirit of the Horse'.  Willie has been trained as a carraige horse but his personality outshines any other carraige horse on the planet.  He radiates and lights up the path when he is engaged to pull the beautiful decorated carriages that Nikki provides.  The Bride and Groom are always enchanted by the magical experience.  Carriage rides can be arranged for the weddings at the Trois Estate at Enchanted Rock, in the Hill Country or Fredericksburg.  You can also contact Nikki to arrange a carriage ride with Willy just because you want to have a great experience and enjoy the country.  Willie has also performed in Holiday Parades in Comfort and the surrounding Hill Country area.  If you have been to one of the events, you are bound to notice this proud beautiful horse as he majestically struts his stuff for the crowd.

Willie is also the most patient and loving horse for the children who come to the summer camps. Notice how he allows them to paint their lovely designs all over his body. He is truly an Equine Healer with a huge heart of gold allowing his body to become the canvas for their therapy and enjoyment.

The Horse-Connection has been established since 1999 and represents a Lifetime of work research and dreams that are becoming "more Real each day" as the World of Horses & Healing becomes more aware...We are keeping pace through wondrous trainings, learnings and Changes.   Our former website reflected our current educational work and our Horses as they grew up and became adept healers.  They were a preview of what is inside our Hearts and Souls from years and even lifetimes of the Joy of our attachment to the Magic of the Horse joining the Heart and Soul of the Human.   The Pace of our World moves many of us to seek solace with The Beauty & Soul that speaks the Language of Love and Understanding of the intimacy and the intuition and trust in Spirit.

Mission:
Goal:  To incorporate the elements of Developmental Equine Therapy into the I.E.P. or Education Plan for increasing self-confidence, assuming responsibility, raising self-esteem, enhancing emotional intelligence (common-sense raising) and strengthening self-control through an Equine Program. These elements also meet the criteria for moving toward non-violent methods for behavior/attitude change in the students through an educational/healing modality.

Purpose: Encourage students with emotional, physical and social disabilities and/or limitations to attain improvement of their abilities and strength with recreational movement and outdoor types of therapies to meet their physical and emotional challenges.  Development of an Equine Therapy Program as a type of Adaptive Physical Education for students with emotional needs, physical limitations, developmental delays and mental challenges that can access and meet their needs.

Summer Camp
Nikki enjoys giving the students personal attention so they can get to know the horse.  It does not take long for the kids to adjust to the new experience and begin to communicate with the 'Spirit of the Horse.'

The group of students have come to the end of their Summer Camp experience.  They have become experienced riders and the joy of their time together is ending.  They will all look forward to returning next summer!

Studied and certified in numerous modalities
                       Zen (Chinese Zen) Practitioner
                       Cherokee descent

FOOT REFLEXOLOGY: Reflexology is based on the notion that each body part is represented on the feet and by pressing on specific areas of the foot can have therapeutic effects in the related parts of the body.  Each organ or part of the body is represented on the hands and feet.  Massaging or pressing each area can stimulate the flow of energy, blood, nutrients and nerve impulses to the corresponding body zone and therefore relieve ailments in that zone or area.  For instance:  if a person has pain in the shoulder, pressing below the little toe will serve as greatly as massaging the shoulder itself.

Deborah Lane is scheduled on Friday 1 pm - 6 pm and Saturday 10 am - 6 pm, at Tranquil Thymes in Old Town Spring, 240 Noble Street, Spring, Texas 77373, www.tranquilthymes.com . For an appointment call 281-528-9419, walk-ins are welcomed.

DRUMMING CIRCLES:  Drumming Circles breaks down barriers of hierarchy, age, gender, culture and language. It evokes togetherness and leaves the participants with a sense of belonging.  There is no such thing as wrong way in a drum circle.  Personal creativity is encouraged and participants express themselves freely.  As each group's  unique rhythms emerge and develop, the energy builds.  Drumming Circles are very therapeutic and known for relieving stress.

Heart Beats
Drumming
That rhythm renews us is no secret. Drumming is the oldest form of music on the planet. Virtually every culture that exists or has existed on earth has practiced some form of drumming. In Africa, the beating of a drum continues to be an important part of significant ceremonies and holiday celebrations. Native American cultures use drumming as a means to reconnect an individual's mental and physical selves. Throughout history, drumming has been a part of performing rituals, marking significant transitions, and celebrating life's cycles. Our lives are infused with rhythm beginning at the very moment we first sense our mother's heartbeat in her womb.

All manner of drumming has the ability to put us in touch with our own natural rhythms, the rhythms of the earth, and the rhythms of the people we choose to drum with. The drum can represent the heart, and drumming awakens the mind while stirring the soul. Drumming can take you to a place deep inside you where you are keenly aware of your mind and your body, as well as the vital bond between the two. Much like human beings, each drum has its own vibration and voice. Drumming alone can help you release tension, dispel stress and aggressive feelings, and restore your energy. It can also give you an opportunity to reestablish your connection to Mother Earth, as the beat of a drum can represent a crack of lightning, pounding ocean waves, or the tumult of an earthquake.

Drumming with others brings with it many benefits. Taking part in a drumming circle attunes us to the invisible energy that exists between us while uniting us in a common purpose. Drumming can be relaxing as well as energizing. It quiets mental chatter and can create a peaceful meditative state. In Navajo lore, the drum is the Great Spirit's favorite instrument. It is said that this is why all human beings were given a heartbeat. The rhythmic beating of a drum can move us into new realms of consciousness. There is no right or wrong way to drum, and everyone has the innate ability to create rhythm. When you drum with intention, you'll discover the rhythms that move you.

Deborah has also led the drum circles at the 2006 Southwest Universalist Unitarian Women's Conference in Ft. Worth Texas and is a member of the Native American Chamber of Commerce in Houston, Texas.

ZEN MEDITATION:  Find serenity, true happiness and wisdom through a calm and peaceful mind.
(Please bring a small blanket or large towel to cover from the waist down, especially the knees.)

Every 1st Saturday at 7:30 pm
Tranquil Thymes in Old Town Spring
240 Noble Street, Spring, Texas 77373,
281-528-9419
 www.tranquilthymes.com .
There will be three opportunities to experience this style of meditation, 9 am - 10 am,  6:30 pm - 7:30 pm.

I am frequently asked by those who have known me for years, “What are you doing, you seem to be at such peace.”  I shared that I am a student of Zen at the Chung Tai Zen Center of Houston and the meditation has helped me tremendously.  I have been asked to share with others this method of meditation.

How does meditation affect the body:

Meditation allows the body to relax. When the body is relaxed, it can heal itself. Also it allows the mind to become still from wandering thoughts. This allows the mind to become clear. When meditating the person can actually feel the body relax. When the body relaxes, the body clears out all the tension built up and allows the energy to flow smoothly.

As the body relaxes and the mind clears, we learn to be the master of our own thought. Realizing which thought is a wandering thought and which is our own thought. This is called Mindfullness. When we control our thoughts we will react in a controlled manner and not in a responsive manner. Meaning, we will have control of how we react to situations.
